About the Authors

Writers Anonymous brings together a number of writers all from different backgrounds and disciplines, from this side of the pond, and the other…

J. AGOMBAR resides near the treacherous waters of Southend-On-Sea, Essex, UK where visions of the speculative, criminal and supernatural have taken hold of his mind (usually alongside a bottle of whiskey). He holds a BA Hons in Humanities where the creative writing module inspired his first published work with Luna Press. He is a fan of the short story and inspired by classic authors such as Richard Matheson, Ray Bradbury and H.P Lovecraft. He has various works available from this page, and is currently working on his second collection. Check out his author page here, or visit his Facebook page.

PAUL BUNN became interested in writing whilst watching the TV one night…no, seriously! Sitting there looking at some bland programme which he can’t even remember, he had this sudden urge to write and so, not having a typewriter (this was a bit before personal computers were common place), he got out a pen and notepad and wrote down what was in his head. His first successful publication was a short story in a (now defunct) magazine called Thirteen. After spending time on a writing course with other like-minded individuals he co-created Writers Anonymous and has been creating dark tales for publication with them ever since. She obtained a BA Hons in Media Arts from Plymouth University where she was able to explore other passions such as photography, film and Installation Art. Having had a successful career in the TV industry as a Producer and Director she has turned her hand to writing, taking inspiration from authors such as Anne McCaffrey, Terry Pratchett, John Irving and Steven King. She is currently working on her first novel and enjoys transferring her visual mind set onto the written page. Check out her author page here.

JAMIE EVANS is a writer, performer and filmmaker based in Essex UK. He has published several short stories with Writers Anonymous and is the creator and lead writer for the popular audio drama series HAUNTED: The Audio Drama, which has enjoyed international success. BRIAN HARRISON. Brian K Harrison avoided his destiny for as long as possible, to spite his mother, who so named him because she thought that would be a great name for a writer. However, his love of art led him into animation, and it so transpired that he would need stories to animate.
He battled with ADHD, OBD, BPD, dyslexia and synaesthesia to complete a creative writing course despite not being able to smell his own name. He completed a pilot for an animated cooking show, several short stories and a novel for his son, but decided to spare the rest of the world any subsequent trauma. He reads all the Cyber-punk heavy hitters but cites Jasper Fford’s ‘Thursday Next’ series as the ‘Dog’s Bollocks’. Apart from that he has been staring into space for 58 years so would like to thank WA for pushing him to finish ‘The Dead Doctor’s Dastardly Deeds’. Check out his author page here.

R.J. KORETO began his writing career trying to make accounting regulations sound interesting. However, after finishing John le Carré’s Karla Trilogy, he realized his true calling, and published historical mysteries set in his native New York City and much-loved London.
In between writing novels he reads Simenon’s Inspector Maigret stories for their unparalleled psychological insights. He once had a manuscript rejected because “although it is well-written, every character is thoroughly unlikeable,” which gives him a perverse pleasure. His next novel, “The Greenleaf Murders”, is set among old-monied New Yorkers.

SANDRA MAYNARD. Aside from her family, she says that writing is her main passion. One of the modules in her Open University degree was ‘Creative Writing’ and since then she hasn’t put her pen down! She loves creating dark, macabre stories with a twist and is thrilled to be a part of Writers Anonymous. Sandra did always look forward to sharing her sinister thoughts and inspirations, which have been posthumously compiled into her “Don’t Stop Me Now” anthology available on Amazon here.

MARK MELLON is an American novelist who supports his family by working as an attorney. Short fiction by Mark has recently appeared in Cirsova, Savage Realms, Dark Horses, and Mystery Magazine. DAVID SHAER is a post-life, numerically-challenged chartered accountant whose main ambition was to get past writing unpublishable letters to The Times. He played rugby during five decades but was only ever going to be the player most likely to be lent to the opposition if they were short. He also needs a large atlas when driving, but only to see over the steering wheel. David was starting to get a complex about life when he was ejected from French evening classes, so joined a creative writing course and now wants you to judge whether he should go back and start again!

BRIAN TERENCE is writer of a wide range of science fiction stories, both full novels and short stories. Covering genres such as dystopian, post-apocalyptic, alien invasion, time travel, robots, and space exploration. Some are humorous, and others are more poignant and thought-provoking.
Brian is a husband and a father, living in East Anglia, UK, and shares his home with various animals, including dogs, cats, chickens, a duck and a goose.
When asked where he gets his ideas from, he can only explain that his mind is like a septic tank; weird bits of, well, you know what, float to the surface from time to time and become the kernel of his stories. As a middle-class, middle-aged, white bloke – if you need anything ‘mansplaining’, he’s here to help!
If you enjoy any of his stories, please leave him a review, either on Amazon or Goodreads.
Brian is a member of the British Science Fiction Association and you can check out Brian’s Amazon author page via this link.

S.R. WOODWARD has worked consistently in I.T. for over 35 years and decided, in 2004, it was time to forego the strictly logical world of computing and take up writing in his spare time. He doesn’t think he’ll truly get to grips with this literary world but he’s certain he’ll have great fun finding out. That said he believes his wife, Yve, is not so enamoured by his frequent requests asking, ‘what do you think of this?’
Without his wife Simon knows his two horror novels, “Centurion” and “When Evil Wins”, plus his horror short story collection, “Dark Matters”, would never have seen the light of day. Check out his author page here.
